Privileges after retirement for UBC emeriti
Senate-appointed UBC Emeriti receive a number of privileges
UBC Card
UBC encourages emeriti to obtain a new multi-purpose UBC-card, which identifies you as a valid UBC emeriti. It also grants you access to:
- UBC Library services (book loans, study room bookings)
- UBC Bookstore e-Money purchases
- Food Services’ dining convenience and discounts

Library
If you have a UBC card you do not need to obtain a separate library card. Please see the information above about the UBC card. If you wish to apply for a separate library card, you can do so online.
Parking
Once you received the letter granting you Emeritus status from the Senate, you can e-mail it to parking.support@ubc.ca so they can issue you an Emeritus Parking Permit.
Aquatic Centre
Emeriti are eligible to pay senior rates. To register with UBC Recreation's new registration system, please visit their website. You can contact the Aquatic Centre by email aquatic.centre@ubc.ca or by telephone 604-822-4522.
